The 2024 Spring Flower Show we think, was the best ever. So far!
Although a lot of effort was required by members, the support team, exhibitors, judges, the catering team and not forgetting the committee, everyone enjoyed it. The weather was good and that brought out many visitors keen to see what and who had won prizes.
The pies, jam and cakes exhibited looked truly scrumptious. They must have taken hours to make and minutes to disappear, once they were taken home. There were a good number of handicraft entries which were very skilled in the making. The photographic competition was very popular and visitors made many admiring comments.
The stars of the show, as always in spring, were the daffodils. Considering the recent we weather the blooms were amazingly perfect. There were many types of spring flowers entered and the tables were a sea of colour. We had perfect pot plants, vases of tulips and hellebores and camellias floating in bowls.
As always, the floral art displays were a wonder to behold. So perfect they almost didn’t look real.
The cactus displays were something to be studied with care. Plants from all over the world. For those that had their interest sparked, they could buy one from the stall nearby.
The raffle was well supported with many excellent prizes donated by HILLIER RUISLIP.
Tea and cake were the order of the day. With ALL cakes being donated by members and Committee, without you all this wouldn’t happen! Thank you
At times it was just about impossible to get near to the stall.
Amongst the visitors were two local councillors and an MP. At the show Councillors Philip Corthorne and Peter Smallwood joined the RCHS.
