Firstly I want to thank everyone who exhibited in and attended our Autumn show, we had over 180 entries, which is the most of any show for a number of years and a great step in the right direction. The increase in quantity of entries was also not accompanied by a decrease in quality. The judges had a very hard time picking out the best exhibits and handing out awards, at one point a judge asked if they couldn’t hand out two first prizes for a section as they were both so good. Dahlias had over 40 entries despite the slightly inclement weather, fruit and veg filled one alcove and a good number of potted plants and exhibits in general floral (including some rose stems that won best exhibit in show) filled nearly half of the southern set of tables.

As the weather was glorious we had a Pimms stand operating throughout the afternoon as well as tea and cakes, and hosted local honey and preserve stalls to sell their good which was a great success for them and us. I want to thank all of the committee, judges and all of the other helpers who aided on the day, many hands really do make light work so I really appreciate this. Bring on Spring!
