The Gardens at Hever Castle, near Edenbridge were set out in the early 1900s by William Waldorf Astor and have matured with something to see for most of the year including snowdrops in February.
Stroll through formal gardens at Hever Castle including the majestic Italian, Garden which houses statuary and sculpture dating from Roman times – much larger than you could imagine.

The colourful walled Rose Garden is delightful and contains over 3,000 plants
You can lose yourself in the yew maze or have fun in the water maze. Or simply amble by the lake and watch the water birds. Special events are held throughout the year including a rose festival.

We will arrive a week before the Hever in Bloom starts
Hever in Bloom showcases the glorious award winning gardens at the height of their summer beauty. You will be able to enjoy one of the finest displays of more than 5,000 roses in Kent, the Garden of England.
- Head Gardener, Neil Miller is offering us a guided tours of the Garden. Neil is well-known within the horticultural world for his encyclopedic knowledge of roses so don’t miss out on this chance to tour the Rose Garden with him.
Once you’ve finished the tour head over to the Courtyard Shop before we make our way home.
FOOD:
NO FOOD is provided on this trip, however Hever Castle and gardens have a wealth of cafes & eating places.
You are welcome to bring your own picnic to enjoy at one of the many picnic areas in the grounds. Horse Shoe Lawn provides a perfect setting with sun and shade and a picturesque Castle view. Half Moon Lawn is another popular choice with views of the pond, fountain and pretty bridges across the moat. Venture further afield and you will discover Two Sisters’ Lawn adjacent to the Theatre which is surrounded by delightful flower beds and an abundance of ornamental trees. Or follow signs for Lake Walk and choose a secluded spot.
